<legal_ethical>Before recruitment, ethical approval to undertake the study was obtained from the Proportionate Review Sub-committee of the West of Scotland Research Ethics Committee (REC) 4 (IRAS project
ID: 331914, REC reference: 23/WS/0150). Approval was also received from Bournemouth University (Ethics ID: 52129). To protect participants’ identities, all transcripts have been fully anonymised. Pseudonyms were used for participants (PWLD, carers, and healthcare professionals), and any potentially identifying information (names, locations, or specific events) has been removed. No legal or ethical issues remain that prevent sharing the data for research purposes, and no access restrictions are required beyond the repository’s standard non-commercial licence (CC BY-NC 4.0).</legal_ethical>
