This dataset contains both the caregiver questionnaire data and the transcript data originally collected for SPLASH Study: exploring caregiver perspectives of adults with Severe and Profound and multiple Learning disabilities Accessing Sedentary Hydrotherapy. While the caregiver questionnaires provide contextual data, the transcripts arise from virtual semi-structured interviews, facilitated by a topic guide underpinned by the World Health Organization's ICF framework (2001) which covered biopsychosocial topics including: health, function, welfare, connections, support and night-time. Access to hydrotherapy was also a persistent topic and as these interviews took place during the Covid-19 pandemic they also feature caregiver perspectives relating to how the pandemic impacted on their care-receiver's access to hydrotherapy and any subsequent perceived impacts. A convenience sample of 23 self-selected volunteer caregivers was recruited through public advertising and a charity gatekeeper. Twenty-three caregivers participated in the study: five family caregivers, nine health-professionals, eight paid caregivers and one volunteer caregiver.
