As the experimental work involving animals conducted by Luke Cameron involved performing minor surgical procedures (adipose fin excision), this underwent ethical review by Bournemouth University's internal ethics committee. Additionally, as these experiments were conducted within the Republic of Ireland (RoI), all work was also in compliance with the regulatory body for the RoI, the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA).
