Anonymised interview transcripts for: Exploring the Challenges and Opportunities in Biodiversity Net Gain Delivery: Insights from Developers, Conservationists, Local People and Authorities

This dataset comprises 18 anonymised semi-structured interview transcripts collected as part of an MRes research project at Bournemouth University exploring actor perspectives on the implementation of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) in England. BNG is a policy approach that aims to leave biodiversity in a measurably better state following development. The interviews investigated the perceived challenges, opportunities and collaborative processes associated with BNG implementation from the perspectives and lived experiences of developers (n = 4), conservation professionals (n = 5), local authority officers (n = 5) and local residents (n = 4). Interviews were conducted using Microsoft Teams, audio-recorded with participants' consent, transcribed using Microsoft Teams' automatic transcription service, and subsequently anonymised by the researcher. The dataset supports qualitative research into environmental planning, biodiversity conservation and stakeholder engagement in BNG delivery.
