The effect of inorganic nitrate supplementation on brown fat fraction and activation in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus: A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial 
Data provided include for placebo and beetroot juice intervention:
1. Participant characteristics: including age, glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) and body mass index (BMI)
2. Bloods: including concentration of nitrate and nitrite in blood plasma
3. Cooling: including temperature of water in water perfused jacket, room ambient temperature and relative humidity, and mean skin (from four sites) and chest skin temperature
4. PDFF: including proton density fat fraction from the supraclavicular brown fat depot
5. IRT: including relative skin temperatures from the supraclavicular brown fat depot and sternum 
6. RER: respiratory exchange ratio
7. VO2: pulmonary oxygen uptake
8. VCO2: pulmonary carbon dioxide output
9. VE: minute ventilation
